女兒的小狗維爾伯，我們家庭的第二個狗成員。
轉眼已經九載，逐漸顯現蒼老。維爾伯與我們從前的九一不同，九一的雄狀機敏和聰慧，少不了我們費心訓練和時間付出，而維爾伯的長像就是可人的那種。除了犬吠的聲音特別宏亮外，哪兒哪兒都透出乖巧可愛的特點。
他高興的時候，還要跕着腳走走馬步，很像訓練有素的名種馬那樣示人。狗仗人勢，連狗窩也高大上了，毫無囚籠之感，整個一現代童話小屋的韻味。連喝水的碗兒也不見了，取而代之的是噴泉飲用流動水源，奢華時尚。
尤其那雙眼睛，一藍一棕，非常稀有。還沒有一般柯基滾圓的身材，女兒注重體型，連狗都受牽連，當他們外出旅行，輪到我們與維爾伯為伴時，領導一再被叮囑，飲食定量，控制嚴格，不可放任小維爾伯飽口福，領導太喜歡維爾伯，有前科，女兒不放心。
再過幾天，女兒又要出門，維爾伯將來我家，真的有些盼望的心情了 ......
